Corrections Policy

Effective date: October 1, 2026

Help us correct a mistake

RetirementPlanCalc welcomes reports of factual errors, unclear explanations, broken links, and calculator problems. Email contact@retirementplancalc.com and identify the affected page.

A useful report separates the issue from the desired outcome. For example, a calculator can apply its stated formula correctly while leaving out a real-world feature. That limitation may need a clearer disclosure rather than a different numerical answer.

What to include

  • The exact article or calculator URL.
  • The sentence, formula, output, or behavior you believe is wrong.
  • An explanation of why it is wrong or misleading.
  • A reliable supporting source, when the issue concerns a factual rule.
  • The input values and expected result for a calculation issue.

Use hypothetical or rounded financial figures where possible. Do not send private account records, passwords, or identifying tax information.

Review process

We assess the report against the relevant source, formula, or published assumption. A rule-based concern may require checking the tax year, account type, birth year, or employer-plan provision. A display issue may require reproducing it in the reported browser.

We may ask for clarification. We do not promise a fixed response time or presume that every difference establishes an error. We aim to prioritize issues that could materially mislead a reader or produce an incorrect calculation.

Corrections, clarifications, and updates

A correction fixes inaccurate content or behavior. A clarification makes an existing explanation easier to understand. An update reflects a change in rules, available information, or the scope of a tool.

Minor spelling or formatting fixes may be made without a separate note. A material factual or formula correction should be explained on the affected page when that explanation helps readers understand what changed.

Historical examples should retain their relevant year when appropriate. A current limit should not silently replace an old-year example in a way that changes its meaning.

Disagreement and scope

Some retirement questions involve judgment rather than a single factual answer. We can review an unsupported claim or unclear assumption without endorsing a particular investment strategy or personal plan.

Our site cannot amend your benefits record, employer plan, investment account, or tax filing. Contact the responsible provider or agency for those matters.

Editorial responsibility

Corrections should preserve the integrity of the explanation and avoid hiding a material error behind a new timestamp. Our editorial policy and fact-checking policy describe the standards we seek to apply.

If a concern remains unresolved, reply with the relevant evidence and explain which point has not been addressed. We welcome specific, source-based feedback.
